Alphabet Inc.'s Google allegedly violated an Illinois privacy law by tagging user photos without permission, according to a class complaint filed in a California federal court.
Plaintiff Brandon Molander alleged that Google created “face templates” from millions of pictures automatically uploaded to Google Photos without written consent. The action violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, according to his complaint filed Thursday in the Northern District of California.
