Google Employee Can Sue Fertility Clinic That Emailed Co-Workers

A San Francisco fertility center lost its bid Thursday to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a woman who said the center sent private information about her embryo transfer to her entire work team at Google.

Lane Fertility Institute for Education and Research Inc., an alternative reproductive technology program, emailed a client about a procedure she had done the year before, asking for specific information about her pregnancy. The request was to collect data for their annual success-rate reporting requirements.
