Google Beats Some New Mexico Claims of Targeting Ads at Kids (2)

Alphabet Inc.'s Google beat some New Mexico claims that its ad network let app makers target kids with advertisements without parents’ permission.

Judge Martha Vazquez of the U.S. District Court of the District of New Mexico dismissed the allegation by the state’s attorney general, Hector Balderas (D), that Google violated the state’s Unfair Practices Act.

However, Google must still face a claim under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, as well as common law intrusion upon seclusion allegations, Vazquez ruled Wednesday.
