Facebook Privacy Class Wants $650 Million Settlement OK’d (1)

Plaintiffs in the $650 million Facebook Inc. biometric privacy case, which they bill as the largest privacy settlement on record, urged a San Francisco federal court to grant final approval of the deal.

The settlement represents an “exemplar in the privacy space,” and the monetary relief to class members exceeds the amount doled out in other privacy settlements involving large technology companies, lawyers for the plaintiffs wrote in their motion filed Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
