Dental Network Breach Suit Put on Pause Pending Mediation Effort

A proposed data breach class action against a dental network chain has been paused by a Georgia federal judge as the parties mediate the case.

The case is further stayed until late December as the lawyers address remaining issues, Judge Michael L. Brown wrote in an order filed Nov. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Plaintiff Niki Paras sued Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance LLC in January, accusing the company of acting negligently and breaching its contracts with customers by leaving its systems open to a data breach at one of its service providers. ...
