Czech and Slovak Governments to Use Mobile Data to Track Virus

The Czech and Slovak governments are planning to use mobile phone tracking data to contain the spread of the coronavirus to shorten the lockdowns on every-day life that are hammering their economies.

Slovakia is preparing to alter legislation to use movement-tracking data, Premier Igor Matovic said on Tuesday. The Czechs approved a similar measure last week to establish centralized so-called “smart quarantines” that track the movements of people who have tested positive for Covid-19.
