Computer Fraud Claim Axed in Mortgage Firm Trade Secrets Dispute

A mortgage company’s computer fraud claim against a competitor is dismissed because the company didn’t show a form of harm that would give it recourse under the law, a New York federal judge ruled.

It’s not clear what sort of damage Better Holdco Inc. suffered after an ex-employee allegedly gave over trade secrets to its competitor Beeline Loans Inc., Judge John P. Cronan wrote in an opinion filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
