Colorado Court Bounces Suit Over Unwanted Call to Vermont Number

A Colorado federal court dismissed allegations that companies made an unwanted marketing call to a Vermont area code, saying there’s no link between the business’s activities in the state and the call to that number.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado cited an “insufficient connection between the forum and the ‘underlying controversy'—a phone call to a Vermont area code.” The court lacked personal jurisdiction over the companies, the judge said.
