Biometric Privacy Suit Put on Ice Pending Seventh Circuit Case

A proposed biometric privacy class action against a packaging company was paused after an Illinois federal judge said it would save time and judicial resources to wait until other Biometric Information Privacy Act cases are decided first.

Plantiff Dawn Callender’s lawsuit against her former employer, Quality Packaging Specialists International LLC, is stayed pending decisions in those separate cases in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Illinois appellate courts, Judge Staci M. Yandle wrote in an order filed Aug. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
