Apple Beats Document Requests in Proposed Privacy Class Action

The plaintiffs in a proposed privacy class action against Apple Inc. lost their bid to obtain documents from the technology giant and major resellers of its products after an Illinois federal judge found the requests were too broad.

The plaintiffs’ request to compel discovery of Apple documents is denied, and Apple’s motion to quash subpoenas related to other information is granted, Chief Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel wrote in an opinion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
