Youth Vaping ‘Explosion’ Means Faster FDA E-Cigarette Rules

E-cigarette regulations could come even sooner than 2021, the FDA’s acting commissioner said June 18.

Juul, Altria, and other companies currently have until 2022 before they must submit applications to the Food and Drug Administration to continue selling their wares as part of a 2017 plan for regulating tobacco and nicotine products. The agency has proposed moving the deadline to 2021, but it may come even sooner, acting FDA Commissioner Ned Sharpless suggested.
