Workplace Violence Prevention Bill Gets House Hearing

Democratic lawmakers in the House are flexing their new majority, pushing for the federal government to increase its role protecting employees from violent assaults, in particular health-care and social service workers.

On Feb. 27, the House Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, whose jurisdiction includes the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, took up a bill (H.R. 1309) mandating that OSHA enact measures protecting health-care and social service workers from violent attacks.
