Vaccine Rollout Could Come Before CDC Advisers Meet, Azar Says

U.S. distribution of a Covid-19 vaccine may not wait for a CDC advisory panel to recommend how that allocation process should work, HHS Secretary Alex Azar said.

“We are not dependent on any delay for ACIP in terms of helping to advise states on their prioritization,” Azar said during a Tuesday Operation Warp Speed media briefing, referring to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.
