The plaintiffs attorneys who negotiated a 1,000-person class settlement with United Healthcare Insurance Co. over coverage for prosthetic devices want more than $1.5 million in fees for their efforts.

Their Aug. 22 attorneys’ fee motion comes one month after a federal judge in the Central District of California granted early approval to the settlement. The deal requires United to be more specific when it declines to cover a patient’s requested prosthetic device and to provide information about how coverage may be available in the future.
