OSHA Cites Louisiana Health-Care Firm Over Worker Virus Exposure

A Louisiana health-care system faces a $13,494 OSHA penalty for failing to protect workers from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Thursday said it had cited Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System in Shreveport for failing to ensure employees wore personal protective equipment, also known as PPE, and issued a serious citation and fine.

The agency found that emergency facility employees often shared used protective gowns or did not have protective gowns to wear while treating patients.
