NIH Studying Covid Shot’s Impact on Pregnant, Postpartum People (1)

Pregnant and postpartum individuals will have a better idea of how well Covid-19 vaccines work on them and whether antibodies can be transferred to their babies in an NIH study now underway.

The new study, called MOMI-VAX, will measure antibodies in people vaccinated during pregnancy or in the first two months after delivery. Researchers also will evaluate vaccine safety and look at how those antibodies transfer to infants—either through the placenta or breast milk.
