GE Case on Patent Challenge Tactics Could Be High Court-Bound

General Electric wants the Supreme Court to weigh in on whether companies that challenge patents before being sued can appeal unfavorable validity decisions.

Extra Time to File: GE is slated to ask the justices to review a Federal Circuit ruling that it lacked standing to appeal an administrative board’s decision to uphold claims in United Technologies’ jet engine patent. GE has until Feb. 12 to file its petition after the justices recently extended the deadline.
