Amputee’s Late Suit Against Doctors Bounced by Trial Court

A woman alleging her doctors’ negligence led to the amputation of one leg and her inability to use the other lost a medical malpractice suit because it was filed too late, a state trial court said.

A new provision of Ohio’s one-year statute of limitations that gives plaintiffs more time to add defendants to a lawsuit when they discover others who weren’t included in the original complaint didn’t apply here, the Ohio Court of Common Pleas, Franklin County said.
