Home Depot to Stop Selling Rugs and Carpets With PFAS (2)

Home Depot Inc. will stop selling rugs and carpets containing a group of highly persistent chemicals, the company announced Sept. 17.

The phaseout of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in new carpets or rugs sold in stores will be effective Dec. 31 in the U.S. and Canada.

“Excluding PFAS from the carpets and rugs we sell is another example of our shared commitment to building a better future for our customers and the planet,” Ron Jarvis, vice president of environmental innovation, said.
