Upstate New York Minimum Wage to Rise to $14.20 on Dec. 31

New York’s hourly minimum wage for areas outside of Westchester County, Long Island, and New York City will rise to $14.20 from $13.20 effective Dec. 31, according to the state’s minimum wage webpage on Sept. 30.

New York has two separate minimum wage rates for tipped employees, one for tipped service employees and another for tipped food-service workers. The minimum cash wage for tipped service employees outside of Westchester County, Long Island, and New York City will rise to $11.85 from $11, and the tip credit will rise to $2.35 from $2.20.
