New York announced its 2023 unemployment insurance tax rates on the state labor department website on Feb. 17.
Total tax rates for employers range from 2.1% to 9.9%, and the total tax rate for new employers is 4.1%. The total tax rates include a reemployment-services fund contribution rate of 0.075% and a subsidiary tax ranging from 0.525% to 0.925%.
The state’s unemployment-taxable wage base in 2023 is $12,300, up from $12,000 in 2022, under state law.
