Michigan extended January withholding deadlines for employers that were affected by a state ban on public gatherings, the state treasury department said Jan. 14.
The Jan. 20 deadlines for monthly and quarterly depositors were extended to Feb. 22, the department said in a notice.
The extension applies to businesses where public gatherings were prohibited under a Dec. 7 order from Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services, which include restaurants with indoor seating; entertainment venues such as theaters, cinemas, and conference centers; and recreational venues such as amusement parks, casinos, and nightclubs.
