Agency Opinion Letters Address Tipped Workers, Seasonal Employers

Opinion letters addressing overtime calculations for tipped workers in multiple roles and tip-pool requirements for nontipped hosts were issued Jan. 15 by the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division.

Whether charitable donations may be factored into a seasonality test to qualify employees of an organized camp or educational conference center for minimum-wage and overtime exemptions also was addressed.
