Topgolf Accused of Monopolizing Luxury Golf Simulation Market

Topgolf International Inc. was hit with an antitrust lawsuit in Houston federal court claiming it is monopolizing the market for “golf entertainment facilities” centering on simulators and video games.

The suit accuses Topgolf—which had the industry to itself from its launch in 2000 until 2016—of taking “intentional, predatory action” when it learned it was about to face competition from an upstart rival. It was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas by SureShot Golf Ventures Inc.
