States Seek To Pause Sprint, T-Mobile Merger Settlement Approval

State attorneys general seeking to block T-Mobile US Inc.'s acquisition of Sprint Corp. asked a Washington federal court to pause its review of the Justice Department’s settlement approving the $26 billion telecom deal, saying the process should wait until the states merger trial in New York is complete.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, which is assessing the DOJ’s approval of the Sprint-T-Mobile deal, routinely reviews government merger settlement under the Tunney Act to ensure they’re in the public interest.
