Qualcomm Defends Business Model in FTC Antitrust Appeal (1)

The Federal Trade Commission’s defense of a sweeping antitrust ruling against Qualcomm Inc. drew sharp questions from appeals court judges in a case that threatens to cripple the chipmaker’s most profitable business.

It’s a “challenging case,” Circuit Judge Johnnie Blakeney Rawlinson, a Bill Clinton appointee, said as the three-judge panel completed an hour grilling lawyers on all sides Thursday.
