Avangrid, Eversource Win Consumer Antitrust Suit on Gas Prices

Eversource Energy and Avangrid Inc. won dismissal of a consumer lawsuit alleging that they conspired to drive up retail gas prices in New England by manipulating pipeline capacity in the wholesale market.

The class action alleged that the two energy companies engaged in a “years-long scheme” to manipulate pipeline capacity that cost consumers in six states $3.6 billion in overcharges on their electricity bills.
