Standard General Asks Court to Help in Sputtering Tegna Deal (1)

Standard General LP asked a US court to cancel an administrative hearing that threatens a fatal delay for the hedge fund’s proposed purchase of TV broadcaster Tegna Inc.

The $5.4 billion transaction should get a vote by the Federal Communications Commission by April 28, rather than undergo a planned hearing, Standard General said in a pair of lawsuits filed Monday with the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
