Alstom Eyes EU Backing for Bombardier Deal by End of July (1)

Alstom CEO Henri Poupart-Lafarge tells lawmakers on Wednesday he hopes the European Commission will give the green light for its acquisition of Bombardier Inc.’s rail-transport business by the end of this month.

• The deal is “on a good path,” he says before the National Assembly economic affairs committee
