Walmart, Religious Manager Settle Dispute in Ex-EEOC Bias Suit

Walmart Stores East LP and a Seventh-day Adventist former manager reached a settlement in a lawsuit alleging he was denied a religious accommodation after a conflict arose between his faith’s needs and the company’s staffing requirements at a store in Wisconsin, federal court records show.

The development comes as the suit, which was unsuccessfully litigated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Edward Hedican, was back before the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on remand from the US Supreme Court.
