An authorized Verizon Wireless retailer and nearly 50 sales people moved closer to winning preliminary court approval of their $89,710 settlement, which would end 10 years of litigation over alleged misclassification and wage violations.
Magistrate Judge Daniel J. Stewart said Wednesday that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York “would be inclined to grant” preliminary approval of the deal, which will apply to the six lead plaintiffs and 41 individuals who opted into the Fair Labor Standards Act collective.
