Verizon ‘Email Bomb Attack’ Lawsuit Headed to Arbitrator

A proposed class action against Verizon Communications LLP arising from alleged “email bomb attacks” against its business customers will go before an arbitrator, a federal court ruled.

Plaintiffs FritzCo LLP, the Law Office of Samuel M. Smith, and Los Gatos-Saratoga Community Education and Recreation alleged that Verizon and its wireless affiliate were negligent in failing to protect their confidential informational and email addresses, which allowed unknown third parties to inundate them with email messages as part of fraud schemes against them.
