A Texas teacher can’t continue his lawsuit for wrongful termination and retaliation because there’s no proof that the school fired him for reporting that two colleagues allegedly changed students’ answers on standardized tests.
In a letter dated April 27, 2018, Ramiro Florez, an instructional reading specialist at Houston’s Fondren Elementary School said he witnessed two teachers “behaving suspiciously” and “probably altering test answers” on the 2018 STAAR academic assessment test. Approximately two weeks later, Florez was told his position was going to be eliminated due to budget constraints. His employment was officially terminated in July 2018.
