SunPower Hits Idaho Solar Firm With Trademark Infringement Suit

SunPower Corp., which bills itself as the leading solar energy company in the U.S., accused a competitor in Idaho of infringing its trademark rights by implying it’s an authorized SunPower dealer eligible for its warranties.

SunPower previously hit solar panel construction company California Sunpower with a similar trademark infringement action in federal court. This latest suit is filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho. The complaint accuses Sun Power Solar & Electric LLC of trademark infringement, unfair competition, and false advertisement under the Lanham Act, as well as state law claims.
