Provider Suing Cigna for $400,000 in Covid Tests Must Try Again

Cigna Health & Life Insurance Co. defeated a New Jersey medical practice’s lawsuit over nearly $400,000 in Covid-19 testing costs, after a federal judge said the practice failed to allege that it held valid benefit assignments from Cigna-insured patients.

The complaint filed by Open MRI & Imaging of RP Vestibular Diagnostics PA doesn’t explicitly allege that the practice received benefit assignment forms that would authorize it to sue Cigna on behalf of insured patients, Judge Kevin McNulty said.
