No Early Out for Ikea in Consumer Suit Over Recalled Dressers

Ikea must keep defending a proposed class suit alleging it failed to provide promised refunds for recalled dressers that are prone to tipping over, a Pennsylvania federal court said Thursday.

The case is appropriate for resolution by a court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said. It rejected arguments by Ikea North America Services LLC and Ikea US Retail LLC that the case should be dismissed because the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which oversees the recalls, has primary jurisdiction.
