Lithium Nevada Challenges Tribe’s Effort to Sanction Land Agency

A tribe “refuses to face the realities” of previous court orders in a dispute over a mine’s approval and filed a “frivolous motion for sanctions” against the Bureau of Land Management, Lithium Nevada told a federal judge in the state.

Reno-Sparks Indian Colony argues BLM improperly rushed the Thacker Pass mine permitting process. The agency’s litigation strategy has been “withholding key parts” of the administrative record “for as long as possible,” the tribe told the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
