Justices Skip Review of Black Abbott Sales Executive’s Bias Case

A Black former Abbott Laboratories Inc. regional sales manager failed to convince the Supreme Court to review her case alleging race bias and retaliation caused her to be included in a workforce reduction and then refused rehire.

The justices on Monday denied Jacinta Downing’s bid to revive her Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and 42 U.S.C. §1981 lawsuit. Downing is thus stuck with her August 2021 trial loss in the case.
