Interior Challenges Order to Review Colorado Oil, Gas Leases (1)

The Interior Department wants the Tenth Circuit to undo a judge’s finding that oil and gas leases in Colorado need further review, according to a filing in a federal court in the state.

The Bureau of Land Management used an environmental review completed for a 2017 lease sale to auction leases on 58,000 acres of land in the state in 2018. The leases were on federally-owned land in the northwest counties of Moffat, Routt, Jackson, and Rio Blanco.
