Ikea Sanctioned for Destroying Evidence in Age Bias Lawsuit (1)

Ikea US Retail LLC was hit with sanctions in a class action age discrimination suit for deleting email accounts of four former employees it had been ordered to preserve and search.

Ikea must pay the plaintiffs’ attorneys’ fees and expenses incurred in connection with the motion for sanctions, and certain facts in the case will be deemed established moving forward, Judge Anita B. Brody of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Monday.
