Idaho will ask the Ninth Circuit to overturn an injunction barring the state from implementing a ban on transgender athletes participating in girls’ and women’s sports while a challenge to it goes forward, according to a Wednesday filing in the District of Idaho.
Gov. Bradley Little (R), Boise State University and other state actors seek to overturn an August 17 ruling by the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho granting a request for a temporary injunction.
The ruling allows transgender athletes, including plaintiff Lindsey Hecox, a Boise State University student, to participate in women’s sports.
