German Merck’s Life Sciences Unit Sued Over Unpaid Calisthenics

Merck KGaA violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and Wisconsin law by failing to adequately compensate least 100 chemical packaging operators for pre-shift work, according to a new lawsuit filed in a federal court in Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Zamora collectively sued Merck KGaA, a German chemical company, on behalf of other similarly situated workers employed in its life sciences division, known as MilliporeSigma. Zamora worked for as a CPO in Milwaukee from October 2019 to February 2021.
