Ex-NFL Cornerback Sues Over Benefits After Courtroom Victory

Former National Football League cornerback Charles Dimry accused the league’s disability plan of continuing to deny him benefits in violation of a court order.

Dimry, who played for five teams during the 1980s and 1990s, filed a new lawsuit against the NFL plan one year after a federal judge determined that the plan mishandled his benefit claim. The judge said the plan didn’t properly examine Dimry’s medical records and was biased in favor of plan-selected doctors. The plan was ordered to reevaluate Dimry’s claim and pay him nearly $300,000 in attorneys’ fees.
