An employment discrimination case filed against the Secretary of Veterans Affairs won’t go to trial after a Black former manager lost her appeal in the Seventh Circuit.
Toya Crain sued Secretary Denis McDonough in his official capacity after she was reassigned to a new position at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans’ Administration Medical Center in Indianapolis. The VA Center argued her reassignment was in response to poor performance during a yearlong probationary period after hiring.
