EEOC Fails to Revive Suit Over Walmart Manager’s Sabbath Rights

A Walmart in a Wisconsin resort town did all it was required to under federal law when it offered to help a newly hired Seventh-day Adventist manager find another job after a conflict arose between his Sabbath needs and store staffing requirements, a divided Seventh Circuit ruled Wednesday.

A 2-1 majority upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Andrew Hedican.
