An Israeli distiller infringed a trademark when it dubbed its whiskey ‘David’s Slingshot,’ California winemaker Stewart Cellars LLC alleges in a new lawsuit.
Stewart Cellars, which produces a wine brand called ‘Slingshot,’ alleged that name of Legends Distillery Ltd’s whiskey would mislead consumers about which entity made the product.
According to the complaint, Legends filed its trademark application in 2022. Later that year, Stewart Cellars sent a letter to the US Patent and Trademark Office expressing concerns about the potential for confusion.
