Court Tosses Individual Gold King Claims Against Mining Company

A federal judge in New Mexico dismissed about 250 individual claims filed against two Kinross Gold mining companies over the catastrophic Gold King Mine spill in 2015.

New Mexico lacks jurisdiction over Kinross Gold USA Inc. and Kinross Gold Corp., Judge William P. Johnson of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico ruled Thursday in granting the companies’ motion for summary judgment.
