Costco Wholesale Corp. may have violated state disability bias law when it refused a San Diego quality control line technician’s requests to go home or be reassigned to accommodate her hernia.
Martha De La Rosa told her production supervisor that she was feeling pain and would like to be excused from her shift when she reported for duty on Jan. 9, 2019. Her request was denied, and De La Rosa approached the facility’s quality control manager two hours later and again asked to leave work or be assigned to a lighter production line.
