CBS Studios Background Actors Settle Wage Dispute for $4 Million

CBS Studios Inc., Sessions Payroll Management Inc., and background actors who accuse the companies of violating New York wage laws asked a federal judge to sign off on a $4 million settlement.

The deal represents 39% of the maximum possible damages the workers—more than 15,600 people who performed background or stand-in roles on shows such as “The Good Fight” and “Madam Secretary"—might recover if they took the case to trial, according to settlement documents filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California Thursday.
