Austal Settles Workers’ Religious Bias Suits Over Covid Vaccine

Austal USA LLC reached a settlement with 56 Christian employees who sued after they were denied religious exemptions from the shipbuilder’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

Austal fired the workers when they didn’t provide proof of vaccination by a deadline the company set. Austal and the now-former workers provided notice that they have agreed to settle their three cases that alleged religious discrimination, the US District Court for the Southern District of Alabama said in a Monday order.
